“Offsetting” greenhouse gas emissions

Whether you calculate your annual greenhouse gas emissions or not is up to you.

This Fund was initially set up to be a true “carbon offset” initiative, where individuals and businesses would calculate their emissions (for anything from an airplane flight to full annual emissions), then “purchase” an offset that matched the emission reduction and price per metric ton.

Over the years we’ve learned that most folks are not interested in the exact calculation, they just want contribute to local climate projects that deliver measurable benefits — projects selected based on environmental impact, equity outcomes, and local relevance.

So you can choose. Contribute what you feel is right, or really run the numbers. Either way, we practice due diligence to ensure each of our projects results in measurable emissions reductions that wouldn’t happen without our support.
